Celebrating Suburban Joy and Angst — Arnold Park Studios
Veteran graphic tee designer Andy Beller has dropped the lookbook — exclusively released on FAC — for his Arnold Park Studios label, celebrating the mundanity, joy and angst that comes from growing up in the suburbs. Shot by FAC favourite Jordan Hearns.
Arnold Park Studios is a creative studio founded in 2016 by veteran graphic tee designer Andy Beller (previously featured on FAC). Named after the south county Dublin cul-de-sac that he lives on, Arnold Park Studios represents Beller’s embrace of his suburban identity — after over a decade spent trying to run from it. Arnold Park Studios was started as an outlet for all of the ideas that swirl around in his head all day, but don’t fit into his fast-fashion day job. Through a simple, often banal, design aesthetic — Beller creates artwork and apparel that channels his fear, anxiety, and anger over modern culture and politics.
This lookbook captures the first two apparel drops that Arnold Park Studios has put out — all of which was designed in Beller’s home at night after his kids have been put to bed. Shot by Jordan Hearns in Dun Laoghaire, the lookbook aims to capture both the joy and angst that comes with growing up in the suburbs. The shoot is modelled by Beller’s neighbour Luke, a skater in Dublin’s up-and-coming ICYP crew.
Beller has, admittedly, done things a bit backwards in that this lookbook is being released after some of the product has been on sale for almost a year. While most of the product is still available (though sizes are limited), the No Content long sleeve tee has been long sold out. In honor of finally shooting a lookbook, Beller has decided to re-release the tee for a limited time only. Available at Everpress, a no-waste printing service that prints only what customers order, the tee will be on sale until November 22nd. All other available pieces can be purchased via arnoldparkstudios.com.
