Limit — Sam McCabe

Limit is a photo series shot by photographer Sam McCabe as a reaction to the travel restrictions imposed on the public in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The collection of photos serve as an eerie reminder of the unprecedented times we continue to live through.

I set out to document the stillness in the area surrounding my home during the original 2km exercise limit, in the evolution of this project I found myself drawn to the imprints left by persons. The project takes a look at the marks that we as people are leaving behind in the effort to stop the spread of the disease, and their impact on our homes, local environments, and social behaviours.

As we continue flatten the curve, we may have become distracted to what is happening in our surroundings and our most intimate environments.

Explore Limit below. The label on each photo signifies the distance from Sam’s home the photo was taken at.

Sam will be releasing Limit as a zine in the coming weeks, keep an eye out on his page.
