LATE 2N "OCTOPODA"

LATE 2N "OCTOPODA"

The “OCTOPODA” family (meaning the order of cephalopod molluscs that comprises the octopuses such as Octopus, Squid and Nautilus) is the inspiration for LATE 2N’s latest statement capsule.

“OCTOPODA”, the seventh collection from Irish fashion house LATE 2N. Creative Director Shane Fitzpatrick uses a study into the “Octopoda” family (meaning the order of cephalopod molluscs that comprises the octopuses such as Octopus, Squid and Nautilus) to create five wearable pieces in this bold capsule.

These pieces include a two-piece set made with Desert Camouflage Canvas and filled with a fleeced wool lining, with the large “OCTOPODA” tribal lettering appearing on both items. A matching long-sleeved t-shirt has been included, as well as a t-shirt featuring the photo of a bioluminescent squid. A branded balaclava was also produced, to align with the tactical design of the staple two-piece jacket and pants, which shows the collection logo on the back of the headwear.

It’s no surprise to see the brand take inspiration for a concept from a niche study. LATE 2N’s Spring/Summer 2019 offering looked at 1980’s Yugoslavian Magazine “Računari”, meaning “computers”.

The release comes equipped with a 7-image look book shot in Waterford City by the LATE 2N team, showing a figure immersed in black sheet plastic, as well as a short video featuring footage from videographer Tom Fisk.

Items are currently on pre-order via LATE2N.COM.
