Burberry Ready-to-Wear Fall 2017
One of the key trends this fall is the great outdoors meet classic country/heritage wear.
We see beautiful pieces that are built to last with tough and strong materials. This unexpected material usage brings a fresh hybrid take on this traditional, lifestyle led aesthetic. With many examples of this trend throughout the runways it was hard not to spot it becoming a key trend on the highstreet this year.
We think that one show in particular managed to nail the heritage trend: the Burberry READY-TO-WEAR Fall 17 collection. In this 48 look collection, the materials play a key role, mixing the raw and refined for a more sophisticated charm. With a focus on outerwear and large pieces, with the soft-touch plastic poncho in particular, bringing an emphasis to volume and proportions with shapes that are slightly oversized.
A look that blends old and new, traditional and tough, Burberry AW17 gives a modern mix on that classic country heritage look that’s key this season.
Following the announcement that president / creative director Christopher Bailey is bowing out from the brand he helped revive, you can't help but wonder what turn the brand will take as this will be the second last collection under his reign.
In the meantime however you can shop the collection here and look at the lookbook below!
