Silhouettes on Dublin's Winter Streets - Rabie Al
Despite the cold and rain, there is beauty in Dublin winters. With his photos of huddled silhouettes and soaked streets, Rabie Al captures the essence of this atmosphere.
During the winter months the lack of light, damp weather and cold nights can lead to feeling downhearted and dreary. But despite these conditions, there is beauty on Dublin's streets in winter. The city has a special atmosphere, the rush of Christmas shopping, streets filled with characters hastily rushing to get to the nearest warm gaff or packed pub. We might give out about the winter, but we love it really. Sort of. It has it's merits anyway.
Rabie Al, a photographer from New Zealand, captured the essence of this atmosphere. With his photos of huddled silhouettes on the move, lights reflecting off the soaked streets, Rabie has expressed a familiar Dublin feeling.
